Something interesting came up across two different livestreams recently.

On the first livestream, I said that for smaller Thai cities like Pattaya, and countries like Vietnam or Cambodia, you should have at least $1,000 a month coming in before moving overseas.

That’s the bare minimum.

I also said, very clearly, that if I were miserable in the U.S., the moment I crossed that $1k/month threshold, I’d be gone.

Some guys in the chat completely misinterpreted that comment.

Meanwhile, the guys who are already living overseas were straight-up agreeing with me, because they actually know how far money goes once you leave the U.S.

Then, on a separate livestream, one guy said something that I had to go in on so it wouldn’t misinform other guys.

He said you shouldn’t move overseas until you have enough money coming in that you never have to work again.

He also mentioned he was 35 years old, and it honestly sounded like he won’t be touching foreign land until maybe his next decade of life.

That mindset is how people stay trapped in environments where they aren’t valued.

Yes, of course it’s better to have more income. I’ve said many times that $1,500+ a month is a more comfortable starting point. No argument there.

But waiting until you’re “set for life” before leaving usually means you’re choosing to be miserable in the States for decades.

No amount of money would be worth me giving up the experiences I’ve had over the past 11 years living overseas. The friendships, the dating, the travel, the language learning, the freedom, and the perspective all came from moving first and building momentum along the way.

That’s why I tell guys to start where they are.

You don’t need to be rich.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You just need a skill that brings in income.

When someone actually takes action and follows the plan, my average client gets a job offer or their first paying student(s) in 2–4 weeks or less.
