I just finished filming a new video at a tattoo shop here in Thailand.
Before filming, I was honestly nervous.

I know nothing about tattoos.
I planned to talk with the tattoo artists in Thai (the language I’ve been learning for the past few months).
And it was all happening in a public place, on camera.

Even after speaking Asian languages for over a decade, I still feel that nervous edge when I use a new language with strangers in public where random people may be listening in on me (and negatively judging my language abilities!)

That feeling never fully disappears.

But I showed up anyway.

Once I got started, the nerves faded. We laughed, talked, and had a genuinely fun time. The thing I was worried about ended up being the best part of the day.
