I was on calls recently with a few clients talking about the plans they want to make happen this year.

A lot of them are excited about using English teaching as a way to get overseas. New country. New environment. New routine.

But I warned them about something I see all the time.

Most guys don’t fail because English teaching “doesn’t work.”
They fail because they never set a real timeline.

Everything stays vague.
“Someday.”
“Later this year.”
“When I’m ready.”

That’s how years disappear.

I just finished reworking my own goals for the next 3 months, and this is the same framework I push my clients to use.

Here’s the big tip:

Set goals in 3-month blocks.

It’s long enough to actually get something done.
It’s short enough that you don’t drift, stall, or overthink.

Three months is plenty of time to:

  • Line up teaching options

  • Start earning

  • Position yourself for travel

  • Or already be on the ground somewhere new
