Recently there was some mayhem going on in South Korea

A couple black American livestreamers, Johnny Samali and Jino, were causing chaos, disrespecting local Korean monuments and people

These two particular a**clowns were causing chaos in Thailand and Japan earlier this year, bringing embarrassment to their race and to expats who make their living filming content

Based on interviews I’ve heard from Johnny, it seems that anarchy and destruction is just something that he’s attracted to as a way of life

Because it doesn’t seem like he has any real political or societal statements to make with his clown behavior – it mainly seems like chaos just for it’s own sake

It makes me wonder who are the viewers funding these guys to go on these chaos vacations….

Is criminal behavior really what we want to be giving positive reinforcement?

Their behavior deeply unnerves me, and I personally want to see both of them unalived ASAP (I’ve even fantasized about doing it myself! πŸ”ͺ)

Maybe I feel that way because their behavior indirectly (and possibly directly!) negatively impacts black travelers like me (and possibly you, too!)

If blackness already has negative connotations in the media, black men behaving this way just makes the negative imagery worse

And that’s something that we all should be against

What do you think? Are you bothered that the behavior of other travelers could negatively impact your situation?

I’m curious to hear your opinion

P.S. I made a YouTube video about this that is getting a LOT of commentary. Some people feel that Johnny shouldn’t be considered black American (he was born in America to African parents), so his behavior shouldn’t reflect negatively on black men.

I say that’s wishful thinking (OF COURSE people are gonna make negative judgements about black people based on the behavior of one or two blacks!!), but maybe you disagree! Click below to watch the video and share your opinion:
