This week I saw something that really stood out to me.

I was reading through a thread where guys with years of tech experience were talking about applying to thousands of jobs… and barely getting interviews.

We’re talking experienced professionals.
Solid resumes.
Remote work backgrounds.

And they’re feeling the crunch.

One guy mentioned applying to over 2,000 jobs.
Another talked about how recruiters used to chase him… and now it’s radio silence.

Remote tech used to feel unstoppable.

Now? It’s crowded. Saturated. AI is replacing entry-level tasks. Companies are tightening budgets. Roles are disappearing.

Times have changed.

But here’s what hasn’t changed:

The global demand for English.

Students still need teachers.
Parents still want their kids fluent.
International schools still need qualified instructors.
Online platforms still need reliable native speakers.

While remote tech is fighting over fewer seats, English teaching continues to quietly move forward.

It’s not trendy.
It’s not flashy.
But it works.

I’ve been overseas for over a decade because of it.

My clients are still landing:
• Online teaching positions
• In-person school jobs
• International school offers
• Guaranteed placements in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan, Japan, and the UAE

The world still runs on English.

And unlike tech, you’re not competing against a 22-year-old in another country working for $5 an hour.

If you’ve been watching the remote job market tighten up and wondering what your move is…

Maybe it’s time to look at a skill that has stayed strong for decades.
