It all started with a debate that was going on in the comment section of one of my posts

I’ll bring up the details of the debate at a later time, but I want you to focus on this comment that I left

You might think that I’m exaggerating, but it’s actually pretty common to see people lose their minds when they are given a lot of freedom and an above-average salary (relative to their location)

As an example, I had a coworker at my university who suddenly went nuts this past summer. First he started texting me nonsensical messages

The former coworker had a convo with one of the managers at my university, and she explained the freakout that happened

I hadn’t seen or spoken to the crash out coworker since the incident, and today the former coworker hit me up to let me know what happened to him

So it seems that everything turned out well for him. Hopefully he’s found his piece (of a$$ 😉)

I just wanted to share this story to show you there IS a real dark side to the freedom this international travel lifestyle brings

The money you can make from English teaching will probably put you in a higher tax bracket than most of the locals you live around. And you’ll probably have an abundant amount of free time to live out whatever hedonistic fantasies you have
