This week, something wild happened.
I had four Black women—three from the U.S. and one from the U.K.—book English teaching calls with me.
Four. In one week.
That’s never happened before.
Usually, it’s all guys booking calls. Mostly Black men, with a mix of other races here and there occasionally.
So to suddenly get four Black women in a row?
Looks like I might actually be HIM after all….
Anyway, it’s actually kind of cool to see how diverse my audience has gotten. Especially considering how raunchy my sense of humor is….
On our calls, we talked about everything from moving abroad to finding teaching jobs to what it’s like trying to rebuild your life overseas.
And I realized something:
No matter who you are, the desire for freedom is universal.
